چکیده

Rhododendron dauricum is a cold-hardy shrub integrating ornamental, medicinal, and aromatic functions. Flower color an important feature related to ornamental value for breeders consumers. Nevertheless, the coloration mechanism of flower in R. still unclear. var. albiflorum white variety dauricum. In this study, integrative analysis metabolome transcriptome was conducted between A total nine anthocyanins two proanthocyanidins were differentially accumulated decrease malvidin-, delphinidin-, cyanidin-, peonidin-, petunidin-based increase procyanidin A2 B2 responsible flowers albiflorum. Furthermore, 4376 expressed genes (DEGs) identified using sequencing. Integrated showed that 21 DEGs encoding 9 enzymes (PAL, C4H, CHS, CHI, F3H, F3′5′H, DFR, ANR, UFGT) as structural involved anthocyanin proanthocyanidin biosynthesis, 15 MYBs 10 bHLHs transcriptional regulators biosynthesis pathways Our results deepen understanding variations azalea color, which helpful identifying genetic engineering shrubs.

Transcriptome sequencing of purple petal spot region in tree peony reveals differentially expressed anthocyanin structural genes

The pigmented cells in defined region of a petal constitute the petal spots. Petal spots attract pollinators and are found in many angiosperm families. Several cultivars of tree peony contain a single red or purple spot at the base of petal that makes the flower more attractive for the ornamental market. So far, the understanding of the molecular mechanism of spot formation is inadequate. In th...

Transcriptome sequencing and metabolite analysis reveals the role of delphinidin metabolism in flower colour in grape hyacinth

Grape hyacinth (Muscari) is an important ornamental bulbous plant with an extraordinary blue colour. Muscari armeniacum, whose flowers can be naturally white, provides an opportunity to unravel the complex metabolic networks underlying certain biochemical traits, especially colour. A blue flower cDNA library of M. armeniacum and a white flower library of M. armeniacum f. album were used for tra...
